Erick Dorantes Castillo is the General Director for First American Title Insurance de Mexico. Named to this position in 2010, he is responsible for directing and managing operations in the Americas South region in compliance with established corporate and Mexican regulations, policies, and procedures. As well, he is responsible to adhere to First American Corporation’s and FAF International compliance and information security policies, practices, and procedures in the performance of the role.

Since joining First American in June 2003, Erick has held various positions of increasing responsibility in many functional areas including sales and marketing, underwriting, finance and accounting, corporate and Mexican regulatory compliance, human resources, and technology. He has held leadership positions in Underwriting/International Counsel and as the Chief Title Officer for the Latin American & Caribbean division.

Erick has experience working in both Mexican and US business environments. As well, he has exemplary management skills, analytical and reasoning abilities and interpersonal and relationship management skills. Moreover, he has the ability to establish credibility and be decisive, coupled with the ability to recognize and support the organization’s preferences and priorities.

Before joining First American, Erick was employed as an Attorney at the Law Department of the Mexican National Commission of Insurance and Sureties and prior to this he worked as a litigation attorney for recognized law firms handling various subjects.

Erick earned his Law Degree from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.

Eduardo Sanchez is the Sales Manager for First American Title Insurance de Mexico. Eduardo joined First American as an Underwriter in 2002 and was named the Sales Manager in 2003. He is responsible for all aspects of sales, marketing and customer relations as well as maintaining a sales/marketing strategy for the company.

Before joining First American, Eduardo was employed with Gamboa y Aguilar Abogados, S.C. as an Associate and was responsible for diverse areas such as international commerce, intellectual property, immigration and participation in trademark and telecommunications matters.

Eduardo earned his Law Degree with a specialization in international law from the Universidad de las Américas, Puebla.

Jose Manuel Martinez is the Compliance Manager for First American Title Insurance de Mexico. Joining the company in 2009, he is responsible for verifying that all operational and administrative processes of the insurance company and the policies and procedures established by the internal committees fulfill the regulations of the National Commission of Insurance and Sureties (CNSF).

Before joining First American, Jose Manuel was employed with the National Commission of Insurance and Sureties as the Legal Advisor/Manager of Crime Opinions Department. He was responsible for supervising Legal Advisors in legal opinions concerning crimes and legal opinions for the Minister of Finance, other departments of the Commission and to the public in general.

Jose Manuel earned his Master Degree in Law from the Centro de Estudios de Posgrado en Derecho as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.

Carlos Mendoza is the Accounting Manager for First American Title Insurance de Mexico. Joining the company in April 2010, he is responsible for financial statements, budget reports, accounting, taxes and internal controls. He is also responsible for financial reports to the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP), National Commission of Insured Bonds (CNSF), Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), Secretary of Economy and the National Commission for the Protection of Users of Financial Services (CONDUSEF) in Mexico.

Before joining in First American Carlos worked for LandAmerica as the Accounting Manager and he was part of the team that achieved LandAmerica´s approval as a Mexican Insurance Company.

He earned his Bachelor of Accounting degree from the Instituto Politecnico Nacional (IPN), Mexico, D.F.
